  • Donations made via the Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities qualify as tax deductible charitable contributions for USA taxpayers. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the USA that supports Poco a Poco San Pedro and other accredited charitable programs in Mexico.
(Poco a Poco San Pedro is not able to directly provide US tax receipts and our organization does NOT have tax-exempt status in the USA.)
  • The Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities, an approved U.S. 501(c)(3) organization, is able to issue U.S. tax receipts on our behalf.  Their web site address is: www.lakechapalacharities.org
  • On their website, just click on Affiliated Agencies at the top of the screen, and scroll down to select Poco a Poco San Pedro Itzicán.  You can donate via Paypal, check/money order or wire transfer.

  • If you want to pay by cash or check (made out to the Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities), we can arrange for a pickup of either cash or checks, payable in U.S. dollars, by contacting one of our team members via our email:  info.pocoapocosanpedro@gmail.com.
  • If you are writing a check, please make your U.S. dollar check payable to "Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities", and note in the memo field that your donation is for Poco a Poco.
  • If you live outside of Mexico, mail your check to: Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities, 5802 Bob Bullock, Ste. 328C-4A, Laredo, TX 78041.  In the notes please indicate your donation is for Poco a Poco.  (Recommended only for checks under $1,000 US.)
  • If you live in the Ajijic/Chapala area, checks written locally can be placed in an envelope, marked “FOUNDATION – BOX 4A" and can be dropped off at the front desk at HandyMail in San Antonio.  Handy Mail is located one block east of Super Lake on the carreterra.

  • Again, please mention that the donation is for Poco a Poco.

  • You will receive a tax-deductible receipt letter directly from the Foundation.

The Foundation sends reports to us about all transfers, and gives us virtually 100% of the funds directly from their account to our account.  They do recommend using a wire transfer for donations above 500 US because by using PayPal, the fees they charge quickly add up.

If you have any questions about tax-deductible donations to the Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities, or you experience any problems, please contact us at info.pocoapocosanpedro@gmail.com for assistance.

Or if you prefer, you can write to the Foundation directly: Admin@LakeChapalaCharities.org
